Your College

…is what you make of it. We encourage involvement in all aspects of the organisation and running of the College. So if you want to be on the Student Leadership Group, organise social activities, run sports teams or attend school governors’ meetings, there will be a way for you to make your mark.

Your time in College should help you prepare for your future, whether that involves going to university, taking up an apprenticeship, vocational training or finding employment. Your studies are the main route to your dreams but what you do outside of lessons can greatly influence your chances of success.

Your academic success

The right course combination is essential. Full details of the courses on offer can be found on our website. We are proud to offer a huge range of A level subjects and a growing number of vocational and BTEC qualifications from A level Government and Politics, Classics and English Literature to  BTEC Sport, Hospitality and Catering and ICT – there really is a course for you. We will help you select the most appropriate courses that will suit your academic profile and your future aspirations. Once you have started your courses we will provide you with excellent support in your subjects and via your form tutor. In return we expect you to maintain high standards of:

  • Commitment
  • Attendance
  • Punctuality

The transition between Year 11 and College can be challenging. We will work with you to make it a success. Likewise, we will help you prepare for academic success after you leave us. We have an excellent record of assisting students into successful post-18 study and employment.

Your life beyond lessons

All work and no play makes it difficult to fill in application forms! We will offer you a range of enrichment opportunities, from Latin Club and Science Society to Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. Want an activity we don’t currently offer? Help us set it up.

Your future

The College has excellent links with local universities and other FE colleges as well as higher education organisations further afield. Support for your future will include:

  • Advice on all higher education qualifications
  • Structured support through the UCAS Process
  • Support with employability skills
